ABOUT US
Croasdale House Farm is a 940 Ha upland hill farm located just outside of Slaidburn, on the United Utilities Bowland Estate. It is situated in the Forest of Bowland's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
We have been tenants here since 1990, and in 2001 we established our pedigree herd of Belted Galloway cattle. We also manage a flock of Swaledale and Llyen sheep (and their crosses).
We are firm believers that farming and the environment can work hand-in-hand, and we aim to farm in a nature friendly and sustainable manner. With this, we are very proud to be able to sell our own homebred, grass-fed Belted Galloway Beef direct from the farm, which is full of marbling and exceptional flavour.
For the last 10+ years we have also provided an educational facility for the local Bowland High School to undertake a City & Guilds Level 2 qualification in Countryside and Environment.

CASTLE DOUGLAS SHOW & SALE 2023
At the end of October, we attended the Belted Galloway Society Castle Douglas Show & Sale. There was a great display of cattle from all breeders, and we were really pleased that our two young heifers, Croasdale Tala and Croasdale Tawny Owl, both found great new homes. We were also very excited to bring home Clifton Genie and her bull calf (Croft Elvis) - a great new addition to the herd!

"In the females the top price was 10,000gns and this was achieved for a bulling heifer, Croasdale Tawny Owl, from the Handley Family. This smart heifer was sired by Lomond Whisky Galore and out of a homebred cow Croasdale Oh Marty and was purchased by Mervyn Forster from the West Midlands for his Elgany Herd."

TYE TROPHY WINNERS 2023!
We are extremely pleased to announce that we have been awarded the Yorkshire Agricultural Society (YAS) Tye Trophy Overall Winner for 2023!
The Tye Trophy is an award which recognises the efforts of farmers to promote conservation and environmental improvements. Farms are nominated and judged across seven different regions in the North of England.
It was a huge honour to be presented with the Lancashire Area award at the Great Yorkshire Show on Wednesday 12th July 2023, and we are absolutely delighted to have been recognised and awarded with the Overall Trophy as well. Find out more >> HERE
